*Press Sample*Hello! Today I have an exciting post - my first gel polishes! The brand Madam Glam offered me some of their gels to swatch and review. As I have never used any before, they were kind enough to send me not only three gel polishes, but both an LED lamp and a peel off base coat. They have also given me a discount code for you all which I will share at the end. Read on for my full swatches and to find out more!
'Lime Mint' is a bright mint green. This has a smooth, easy to apply formula. It did start off fairly sheer, but I found that it built up nicely in three coats. I could just slightly see my nail line at certain angles, but not enough to justify another coat. Below is three coats without topcoat.
'Lady BlaBla' is a bright purple. The formula is smooth and easy to apply. This one is more opaque compared to 'Lime Mint', and covers really well in just two coats. I did add a third just to make sure, but it wasn't really necessary. Below is three coats without topcoat.
'Pale Yellow' is, as the name suggests, a pale yellow. Again, it has a smooth and easy to apply formula. Being a light colour this is the sheerest of the three, and I did add a fourth coat for that bit of extra coverage. Three thicker coats should be fine though, as I applied mine quit thin. Below is four coats without topcoat.
What do you think? I'm very impressed! I had always been a bit scared of gel polish and it's removal, so having a peel off base was very reassuring. It also helped that these were extremely easy to use. I love the fact that they are one step gels, and didn't need either base or topcoat.
All items mentioned can be found on the Madam Glam website here. As mentioned earlier, I also have a discount code - use code 'BC30' for 30% off your entire order.
Hope to see you in the next post!
