Opulent Essences Swatches

*Press Sample*
Hi lovelies! It's been a while since I've posted about Opulent Essences, but today I have four newer polishes from the UK indie brand to share. Sharon was kind enough to send me these to swatch. There are two shimmers, a flake-filled topper, and a thermal. Read on for full swatches of all four and more info!

'Phoenix' is a brown with light green shimmer. It is a bit sheer and patchy on the first coat, but is lovely and smooth to apply and builds up nicely. I still had some minor patches after a second coat, so I added a quick third to even it out completely. The shimmer in this translates well to the nail. Below is three coats with topcoat.

'Malachite' is a light delicate green with a gold shimmer. The formula is smooth and easy to apply. Being such a soft colour it does start off fairly sheer, although covers very evenly and builds up well. I still had a slight visible nail line after two coats so added a third. Again the shimmer translates well to the nail. Below is three coats with topcoat.

'Precious' is a clear base with transulcent silver and gold flakes. I thought this would show up best over a dark base, so used it as as a topper over black. You get a lot of flakes out on the brush, and they cover evenly without much manipulation. They also lay nice and flat on the nail. This could be sponged on for more coverage. Below is one coat with topcoat over black.

'Moon Dust' is a blue to clear thermal with added gold shimmer. The formula is very smooth and easy to apply. It is a bit sheer on the first coat, but builds up nicely and covers evenly. I was tempted to leave it on two coats, but I could just see my nail line so added a third. All photos below show three coats with topcoat.

When swatching this I must have had warm hands (for the first time ever!), as it sat nicely in transition - with my nail beds showing the warm state, and my tips showing the cold state. Here it is in transition:

What do you think? I just love how unique Sharon's polishes are - she always comes up with combinations and colours that I've never seen. I really love the soft but bright look of 'Malachite', but 'Moon Dust' has to be my favourite. I've never had a thermal change so much on my nails naturally, they usually default to the cold state on me. I love it!

All four polishes mentioned can be found on the Opulent Essences website here - £6 each for 10ml, or £3.50 for 5ml. You can also find the brand on Instagram here for more swatches and updates.

Hope to see you in the next post!
